The Conference 2018
The ISRC has been successful in arranging four conferences in Sikh studies in the UK. We aim to encourage the global Sikh diaspora to engage with academic scholars and researchers to make this another important global event.
The conference aims to explore research and academic inquiry into various aspects of Sikh studies by providing an environment where academics, researchers and scholars can come together to pursue critical debate, discussion and inquiry into the many aspects of Sikh research in an open, constructive and collegial manner. The event provides a forum for collaborative dialogue and knowledge exchange as well as to raise awareness of academic enquiry and lines of research amongst the UK population.
Topics for the Conference
The conference will bring together presentations from leading researchers in the field of Sikh Studies and associated scholars in other fields. Scholars, researchers and academics are encouraged to submit an abstract of between 300- 500 words which highlights research on any of the following themes: Musicology, History, Philosophy, Scripture, Diaspora, Identity, Politics. Abstracts may reflect completed research projects as well as work in progress. Other relevant related topics are also welcome.
Submissions must represent a significant element of original research and must not have previously been submitted elsewhere. In the interests of openness, fairness and transparency, submissions will be blind peer reviewed.
Once the abstracts have been considered, authors will be notified if their paper has been accepted.Abstracts/papers must be original work which has not been submitted or presented elsewhere. All authors of a paper must have made a recognizable contribution to the paper and honorary’ authorships will result in the entire paper being rejected.
